Which team will complete the six-day solar-sailing race past the eleven Frisian cities the fastest? After the success of the first three races in the summer of 2006, 2008 and 2010, there will be another edition of the DONG Energy Solar Challenge in 2012.

The organizers of the race challenge universities, schools and compagnies from all over the world to come to Friesland in the Netherlands and compete in the most innovative solar-boating race in the world. The route of the race is the same as the well known ice-skating race past the 11 Frisian cities, the ‘elfstedentocht’.
