July 13 - start: Franeker, restart Birdaard
The ‘hell of the north’ is back! In 2010 the boats sailed an alternative route, because of work in progress on bridges and floodgates, but in 2012 they are sailing the old, traditional route. This route leads us to Dokkum, the most northern city of the Eleven Cities.
Start: Bolwerk, Stadsgracht Franeker, close to the Professor Lorestraat Franeker
Finish: City hall (De Zijl) Vleesmarkt, Dokkum
